Amanda spent years helping companies build products for other people. She's a marketer, a product director, a generalist who's good at figuring out what people need and making it real.

At some point she got very good at taking care of everything except herself.

She knows what it feels like to be last on your own list. Not in a dramatic way — in the quiet, accumulating way that sneaks up on you. She built Self Check-In because she wanted something like this to exist. And because once she started talking about it, she couldn't find a single person who didn't need it too.

ABOUT

We built this because we need it too.
Turns out, so do a lot of people.

Co-founder · Product & Brand

Alicia has spent her career in luxury travel curation and customer experience — the kind of work where the details matter enormously and the person in front of you can always tell when you've really thought about them.

She brings that same eye to every Self Check-In experience. She knows Hamilton deeply, she has relationships with the people and places that make it worth exploring, and she has an instinct for what a day needs to feel like from start to finish.

She's also a yoga instructor. Which means she understands the body's role in all of this — not just the mind.

WHY HAMILTON?

A city that rewards slowing down.

Hamilton is having a moment — but more importantly, it's a city that rewards slowing down. The murals, the waterfront, the independent shops on James and Ottawa — it's built for the kind of day we're trying to give you. We know it well. We're still finding new things to love about it.

Self Check-In is bootstrapped, independent, and genuinely small. There are two of us, and we care about this more than we can say in a paragraph.

Every experience we send someone on, we've thought about carefully. That won't change as we grow.

Self Check-In is designed for the everyday weight of burnout — the kind that builds quietly and doesn't always have a name. We're not therapists, and this isn't therapy. We're experience curators, and this is a day that's entirely yours.

If what you're carrying feels bigger than a day out can hold, we'd gently encourage you to reach out to someone who can really help.
